Getting out of your element

Yesterday for my little brother's birthday we decided to go see the Florida Orchestra and what a performance! They played selected pieces by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. It was absolutely gorgeous to hear such beautiful music performed by these professional musicians. This theatrical music was so intense and the build up was remarkable. Jennifer Koh was featured and played with such vigor. You can see her passion while playing this complex solo. I did more research into Tchaikovsky and Koh and as an artist of a different realm I can relate to both of their backgrounds. Watch this video on what inspires this musician.
Cheers!

Raury @ The Local 662

Phenomenal soulful being with a humble personality. Glad my friends and I could enjoy this show. Obviously this guy loves his audience, and they love him. Wish I could say more but the last photo pretty much sums up everything.

New Year, New Mindset?

What's up cool cats, it is I ---JUJMO. I have returned to my blog to make a new post about making new years resolutions. Maybe you are the type of person who doesn't give a f**k about life or progressing as a human but making new years resolutions is a total normal thing to do. You make goals every day without knowing it, such as "I need to wake up and go work" or "I need to save up money to pay rent." These are, in a way, goals. Why not set the bar higher for yourself?
To continue my rant, I have neglected my blogspot for too long, and I intend on bringing it back to life this year. I honestly do enjoy blogging, as weird, and socially awkward that may sound it aids me in reaching out to a broader audience that I can relate and connect with. I currently live in Tampa Bay, Florida aka Trampa. As sleazy and as crazy of a reputation this city gets, there are a lot of moves being made within the creative industry. It's exciting and refreshing that this is finally happening. I want this blogspot in 2015 to encompass through photo and some editorial musings of the happenings in Tampa Bay and also share some passions that I enjoy this includes art, making art, anime, cartoons, books, other happenings of the world, my daily life, music, and maybe interviewing some up and coming artists around Tampa and abroad. Cheers to the new year! I look forward to more viewers and sharing everything with you guys!

It's Been A While...

Dear public,

It has been a while since I have updated my blogspot. I am typically updating my artist website jujmo.com,  my tumblr, my instagram, my facebook---BASICALLY, not my blogspot. I have gotten some feed back about my social media and how I organize it so hopefully I will be able to fuse all these things together. Moving on, I have been trying to find places to showcase my work after I have graduated from the University of South Florida, and it has been difficult. Such is the life of being an artist, but that has not burdened my spirits. Now that I have dedicated myself completely to my portfolio I just need more exposure. The above pic is a detail shot of the painting I did for The Bricks of Ybor found in Tampa, Florida.  I was so fortunate that a friend of mine who worked there gave me free reign over the bathroom. I hope to do more pieces at The Bricks of Ybor, which is the Skate Park of Tampa's restaurant. At this point, I am relying on the Ybor/Tampa/St. Petersburg community to help me expand my exhibition options. It has been a pleasure to meet so many creative and diverse individuals in this area, and the viewers are just as important as the artist. I would not have gotten this far if it was not for the people that follow my blog, facebook, tumblr, and instagram. I just want to continue to amaze and keep your imagination running. If anyone needs commissioned piece done whether it's a painting, mural, sculpture, etc. I do it all. Thanks again guys. Looking forward to a good year.

Sincerely,

Post from the Grave

The end of the fall semester is near. It has been a very fast paced year, filled with a lot of turmoil, surprises, adventure, laughs, and most of all good times. If it isn't one lesson that I am constantly learning is that life is never the same and it always changes. I hope that 2013 brings another realm of change, that is progressive, and inspiring. I am nearing my last year of college, and putting together all of the shit that I have been drawing for the last 5 to 6 years I've been in school. It has been a long time coming, and something that I want to see through. So with that I am going to leave you with a recent still life I did of a mummy from the Mosi Mummy exhibit in Tampa.

Cheers!

d-d-d-drawing

Currently working on some ideas for my intermediate drawing class with my professor Michelle Bolinger, involving the subject of scale, guidelines are pretty open. One drawing has to be on a large sheet of paper, where as the small one is supposed to be smaller and also a collage. I have a lot of ideas brewing, I have done this project before in my first semester at the University of Southern Florida, and I had a very different approach to art back then. Now I can finally say I am ready to deliver a solid body of work that is documentable, as well as a strong conceptual base to back it up. With saying that, I bid whoever is reading this nonsense a great day, and to keep up with my tumblr too!

Much love,
